Beautiful Catrina 2025- Event Summary

Sunday, November 2, 12 PM to 5 PM | Everett Mall Way Event Center | Free Family Event

Beautiful Catrina 2025 was an unforgettable celebration of culture, remembrance, and unity, bringing together more than 1,000 community members at the Everett Mall Way Event Center. This free, family-friendly event honored Día de los Muertos through vibrant performances, cultural art, and meaningful community connection.

In the months leading up to the event, ten youth participated in a three-month cultural and wellness program made possible through the 2025 City of Everett’s Cultural Arts Grant. These free classes gave youth the chance to learn traditional dances, explore the history and meaning behind Día de los Muertos, and engage in open conversations about mental health, substance use awareness, and breaking stigmas in our community. Through these lessons, youth found a safe and supportive space to express themselves, build confidence, and connect with their heritage.

During the event, attendees enjoyed performances by youth and local artists, community resource booths, and local business vendors offering products and cultural foods. Local high schools joined the celebration by providing free face painting, and a beautiful community altar was created where families could place photos and ofrendas to honor loved ones who have passed.

We were honored to welcome Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin and State Representative Julio Cortes from District 38, who joined us in celebrating the power of culture, community, and youth leadership.

A heartfelt thank you to Las 3 Beautiful Boutique for sponsoring the stunning dresses modeled by the youth, and to all our supporters, donors, and volunteers whose dedication and generosity made this event possible.

Beautiful Catrina 2025 was more than a celebration. It was a testament to the strength, creativity, and unity of our community. Together, we continue to honor our ancestors, uplift our youth, and create spaces where culture and healing come together.
